What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dietitian position at Brookring Federal?

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Registered Dietician to support the Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) at the Shiprock Service Unit.

Work Hours:

Responsibilities Include:

Providing outpatient and inpatient nutrition services as required by the Indian Health Service (IHS) patients.
Conducting diabetes education for patients through individual counseling and group education sessions.
Performing clinical duties in various locations within the NNMC, including the Fast Track/Emergency Department and outpatient clinics, based on patient needs.
Ensuring compliance with IHS Medical Facility standards, including accurate documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
Training and Orientation: Participating in mandatory orientations and training as specified by the IHS.

Qualifications:

Current registered dietitian license is required; must have a full and unrestricted license in all states where licenses are held.
At least 2 years of experience in diabetes education, including individual counseling and group education for all ages, including gestational diabetes.
Experience should include utilizing professional skills and clinical experience to assess and educate patients on lifestyle changes for diabetes prevention and treatment, medical nutrition therapy, medications used in diabetes treatment, physical activity recommendations, glucose testing using capillary testing glucose monitors, and continuous glucose monitoring systems.
Certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is preferred.
A valid state driver’s license must be maintained throughout the term of the contract.
Documentation of flu vaccination and vaccination against SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) is required.
No criminal arrests or convictions, and no early termination from a Locums Assignment due to behavior or quality of care concerns.
