Position Summary
We are seeking a collaborative team member with a friendly work style, and willingness to learn and provide support to the Equipment Sales Department. The successful candidate will be an independent, self-starter who is task focused to produce results and deliver value to the customer and team. This person will be well-organized and able to overcome obstacles to the tasks at hand. He/she will be someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment offering a variety of activities rather than routines.
This position requires a decisive individual who can manage multiple priorities including engineered equipment selections, estimating, and executing orders of mechanical equipment and systems resulting in the support of key owners, consulting engineers, and contractor accounts. The project engineer will work closely with our client’s design teams on projects that include hospitals, labs, research facilities, universities, K-12 schools, manufacturing facilities, and commercial office buildings. They will be working with some of the largest and most respected companies in our industry including Daikin (the largest air conditioning manufacturer in the world), ABB, Klimak, Enviro-Tec, Johnson Air Rotation, Multistack, Seasons 4, and Seresco.
Outcomes

Support sales engineers in the project development, execution stage, and post-sale support of HVAC equipment and systems to existing customers

Provide detailed equipment selections and engineering support to consulting engineers and contractors

Prepare submittals of equipment selected for approval by consulting engineers

Be responsible for order entry and job tracking to ensure project delivery

Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support

Develop or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions

Assist sales engineers in the sale of products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use, such as chillers, air handling units, variable frequency drives, variable refrigerant flow systems and dedicated outside air systems

Recommend equipment options to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase efficiency

Provide technical and logistic support to clients or other staff members

Follow up regularly on existing projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Must be highly motivated, task and goal oriented, competitive, strategic thinker, and capable of working within a team environment
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
- Ability to learn equipment selection tools
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing or verbally as appropriate for the needs of the audience
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
