Brooks & Nelson’s client seeks a Security Officer.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Security Officer, you will carry out a variety of patrol, security, emergency response, and customer service duties at the assigned location.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and log in all visitors and vendors at entrance gate
- Notify appropriate personnel or department of arrival
- Direct visitors and vendors to destination
- Enforce company policies and procedures
- Perform frequent patrols of the property
- Walk, bicycles, or drives vehicle on irregularly scheduled rounds of property
- Observe conditions of equipment, grounds and facilities
- Pick up litter or debris as needed, or arranges clean-up with maintenance crews
- Report damages or areas in need of repair to the Maintenance Supervisor
- Conduct surveillance of locations or areas in which vandalism or criminal activities have been noted
- Assist with and trained for emergency situations
- Collaborate with police officers in the prevention of crime
- Work with fire response units for fire suppression, and with medical emergency response units in the event of emergency situations, at the assigned location
- Provide basic emergency medical response (e.g. performs CPR, gives basic first aid) when needed
- Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current CPR and first aid certifications, as required by specific site location
- Skilled in responding appropriately to emergency and conflict situations
- Knowledge of site rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Knowledgeable of the site topography and locations of emergency equipment and access points
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior security or law enforcement experience or working in mine setting
- Must be able to work rotating shifts on day and night and able to work weekends or holidays any day of week on 12.5-hour work shifts
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to use basic MS software and ability to understand and use different program applications
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience in emergency response and use of two-way radio
