Job Description
Summary:
The Data Abstraction and QI Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Clinical Effectiveness to support hospital-wide quality initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role includes data abstraction, analysis, and reporting to meet CMS, NYDOH and other regulatory agency standards as well as internal quality improvement efforts. The candidate will ensure the accuracy and reliability of data submitted to third-party vendors and regulatory agencies and contribute to quality improvement efforts through the detailed reporting of validated data. The analyst ensures data integrity, supports quality improvement initiatives, and collaborates with hospital staff to foster a culture of excellence in quality and patient safety.
Education And Credentials
Responsibilities:
Associates degree in Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics/Informatics, Business, or a related field required. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics/Informatics, Business, or a related field preferred. Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) preferred.
Experience
Other information:
Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare data abstraction, quality improvement, or a related role. Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Access and EMR systems (e.g., Meditech) required.
