What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Facilities Management position at Brooks-TLC Hospital System, Inc.?
Develops, plans, directs and manages, the programs, policies, and activities of the Plant Operations, Dietary and Environmental Service (EVS) departments for Brooks-TLC Hospital System, Inc. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Emergency Management, Safety Management, Security, Hazardous Materials, Grounds, Bio-Medical Services, and Facility Life Safety by performing the following duties personally or leading staff to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable, and orderly physical environment for patients, residents, employees, medical staff, and the public in accordance with policies, procedures, standards and practices set by accrediting bodies, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and other local community and governmental agencies.
Education And Credentials:
Bachelor's Degree in Management, Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or 5-7 years of experience of demonstrated administrative and supervisory/management work as well as technical expertise on an engineering level in healthcare required. CEM (Certified Energy Manager), CHFM (Certified Health Care Facility Manager), or Universal HVAC license preferred.
Experience:
5-7 years of broad based technical, facilities/physical plant and operations supervisory/management experience in healthcare required. 7-10 years’ experience as a Director of Facilities Management in an acute care hospital. Project/construction management, Dietary, EVS experience working with labor unions, Experience working in a multi-institutional, complex environment preferred.
