Job Description
Demonstrates proficiency in clinical skills corresponding with the proper evaluation and treatment of patients; Able to recognize and appropriately respond to clinical emergencies; Interviews patient and others to gather information that will assist in determining patient care needs; Performs a physical examination to assess the patient’s health care needs; Appropriately orders diagnostic tests/procedures; Appropriately interprets results of diagnostic tests/procedures; Able to recognize basic arrhythmias; Makes appropriate treatment selections;Instructs patient and patient’s support person on the proper treatment and follow-up;Follows department protocol for physician consultation; Provides accurate and timely documentation regarding evaluation and treatment of patients, following established departmental standards. Demonstrates ability to work with others at all levels. Deals effectively with differences in people. Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient, hospital, and peer information;Exhibits high standards of clinical and business ethics
Education And Credentials
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or equivalent per NYSDOH regulations. NYS License with current registration. National certification preferred. ACLS and ATLC course work required.
Experience
At least one (1) year of experience in an urgent care or emergency department setting. Proven interpersonal skills
