Job Description
Summary:
The Rehabilitation Office Assistant provides diversified secretarial and clerical support for the Physical Therapy (PT) department. This office assistant’s duties will include scheduling, insurance verifications, billing and authorizations, inputting statistics and assisting the Director of Rehabilitation Services as a liaison between physician offices and the rehab department. This position is for BMH and Gowanda Locations.
Education And Credentials
Responsibilities:
Associates Degree or higher in Business/Secretarial Services, or related field required. Must be familiar with medical terminology.
Experience
Other information:
At least two (2) years of secretarial and billing skills in a medical setting required. Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal relationship skills, Knowledge and experience in computers including various software programs, particularly MS Outlook, MSWord, and MS Excel. Knowledge of Meditech and/or ReDoc medical record systems, recommended. Good organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize tasks and work with multiple deadlines. Three (3) years secretarial and billing knowledge in medical setting preferred. Rehab Assistant must be pleasant, patient, tactful, diplomatic, professional and helpful to the patients/ clients serviced. Must be able to cope and resolve problems in an effective manner. Employee must be able to multi-task and maintain deadlines.
