Job Type: Full-time 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, in person, 40 hrs. per week.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in real estate/title work and be prepared to provide essential support to our attorneys by performing all work required for Real Estate contracts from negotiations through closing of title, including working with clients, attorneys, realtors, title companies, etc., as well as managing administrative tasks, occasionally assisting with legal research, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and organized. This role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency of our legal operations and requires a strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Real Estate:
- Assist attorneys with real estate matters, including correspondence and meetings with clients, attorneys, realtors and title agencies.
- Prepare, gather and organize all required documentation and manage execution of same.
- Draft legal documents such as contracts, addenda, title conveyance, etc., under the supervision of attorneys.
- Prepare accurate legal documents and correspondence.
Trusts and Estates:
- Manage checking accounts for Estates accurately.
- Have a knowledge of accounting to assist in preparation of Estate Accounting Reports.
General:
- Maintain organized files for easy retrieval of case information.
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, realtors, and title agencies and other parties involved in cases.
- Perform general administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
Experience
- Proven experience in a legal administrative role or as a paralegal is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with NJ real estate law.
- Proficient in legal drafting and document preparation.
- Experience with administration of checking accounts and reporting.
-Ability to take verbal dictation from attorneys while at the computer.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
