Job Summary

Cross-trains in various logistics support tasks. Works with a focus in one or more areas, which include receiving, releasing, inventory, t-zone, etc. at various Company distribution center locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving:

  • Generates labels and purchase orders from vendor receipts to be used by order checkers for verification.
  • Schedules and manages appointments with vendors.
  • Verifies the manifest and works closely with category management to resolve overage issues.
  • Locates slots for new product and collects measurements from order checkers. Enters specs into software system and produces required receiving documents.

Releasing:

  • Processes and modifies retail store orders from the warehouse management system (WMS) to create a router, which summarizes the sequence of dock departs.
  • Releases processed orders from WMS to Vocollect system.
  • Calculates cubic weight to manually create separate orders in the computer system for overflow inventory.

Inventory:

  • Counts selection slots once a period and reserves once a quarter.
  • Verifies that slots are either filled or empty according to specified placements.
  • Runs a count of an aisle range and checks for empty reserved slots. Finds solutions to ensure proper inventory count to achieve an accuracy goal.

T-Zone:

  • Receives notice from logistics partners regarding products that do not fit in the reserved slot. Abandons product in the computer system and notates the reason for abandonment.
  • Researches and resolves product placement issues to assign proper slots to goods.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of WMS.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP reporting and transactional applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with partners and vendors.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and productivity.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret information.
  • Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • One or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing).
  • Frequently required to stand or walk.
  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat.

Work Context and Environment

  • Work is generally performed in a warehouse setting.
  • Noise level varies.
