What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Staff position at Brookside Nursery?
Brookside Nursery is seeking to fill part-time seasonal and full-time seasonal roles on our retail nursery staff. The ideal candidates will have a passion for plants and gardening, excellent customer service skills, and ability to thrive in a fast paced retail environment.
Responsibilities to Include:
- Plant care, including but not limited to watering, trimming, weeding
- Restocking of plant material and hardgoods
- Assist with receiving shipments of plants and merchandise
- Answer phone calls and respond to customers inquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate cash register and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist customers with the loading of trees, shrubs and soils
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized retail space
Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 40lbs consistently
- Ability to work in all weather conditions: Rain, Snow, Heat, Bugs etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
- Flexibility to work weekends, (Some holidays- Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Labor Day etc.), and occasional overtime as needed

Compensation:
Starting at minimum wage $15.50 and based upon experience
