Brookside is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. As a Behavior Technician, you will work directly with children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) under the supervision of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Your primary responsibilities will include implementing individualized behavior intervention plans, conducting discrete trials, collecting data on client progress, and providing positive reinforcement to promote skill acquisition and behavior modification. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism in all interactions. Previous experience working with children with special needs or in applied behavior analysis (ABA) is preferred but not required, as we provide comprehensive training and supervision to help you succeed in this rewarding role.
Duties:
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
- Provide one-on-one behavioral therapy sessions to individuals with ASD
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized treatment goals
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure consistency in therapy approaches
- Support clients in developing social, communication, and daily living skills
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Provide feedback and updates to BCBAs regarding client progress
Experience:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or related developmental disabilities preferred
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and interventions
- Experience in data collection and analysis
- Ability to maintain accurate medical documentation and records
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help individuals with ASD
