What are the responsibilities and job description for the ESY Summer Program Coordinator position at BROOKSIDE PRIMARY SCHOOL?
Job Summary:
HUUSD is seeking to hire an ESY Summer Program Coordinator.
The candidates will be licensed teachers, preferably with experience with special education, who will be responsible for the development, coordination, and oversight of the Extended School Year services over the summer for students who qualify via their IEP. The chosen candidates will be responsible for compiling information around services, matching and scheduling service providers, scheduling services with families, and collaborating with school-based teams. The ESY Coordinators will also be responsible for oversight of their program, including (but not limited to) communication with parents, scheduling, organization of the physical space, and ensuring that all programming is consistent with federal and state laws/regulations.
Summer programming will run Monday through Thursday from July 21st - August 7th, between 8:30-3:30.
The ESY Coordinators will be expected to work during the later part of the 2024-25 school year and the three weeks of ESY services with the option of additional hours per week to prep, plan, collaborate, consult, and/or develop programming, as approved by the Student Support Services Director.
In addition, the ESY Coordinators will be expected to provide a Staff Orientation, which will take place between the end of the school year and the beginning of ESY services. During this orientation, the Coordinators will establish a relationship with participating staff, as well as outline the vision and expectations for the program. Support staff will be provided guidance and time to prep materials necessary to meet the needs of their students.
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
