Job Description
Our client, a top-rated Fortune 500 Insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join their IT Division as an Application Infrastructure (System Admin) Engineer. Responsibilities include: development and support of software application infrastructure for new or existing systems, including but not limited to application deployment automation, repository maintenance, application security, scripting, performance monitoring, and third-party software administration.
Additionally, an ideal candidate would have knowledge of automation and scripting tools, source code management tools, containerization software, and databases. This position works directly with many key internal stakeholders such as software engineers, system administrators, database administrators, security engineers, and test automation engineers.
*Our client offers a merit-based work-from-home program based on job responsibilities. After initial training in-person (first 30-60 days), this specific role could have the flexibility to work from home up to 60% of the time.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or another related degree is required. Candidates without a four-year degree, but with several years of relevant experience, may also be considered.
- Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division.
- Some development experience is strongly preferred (Python). This experience can be from a course, class, or project.
- Experience with SQL, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Docker, Kubernetes, PowerShell, and/or SSRS/SSIS is preferred.
