Customer Engineering Representative

The Customer Engineering Representative is the main contact for new construction requests, working with customers and various internal and external representatives to ensure project success. This role involves consulting, advising, and coordinating with customers, engineers, contractors, and governmental agencies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Customer Requests :
Handle construction requests via phone, email, and online.
Initiate service orders and ensure accurate account setup.
Assist customers with questions and interpret guidelines.
Collaborate with business partners to ensure timely installation of meters and services.
Technical Responsibilities :
Process various technical work requests, including temporary power, residential requests, and traffic signals.
Ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain service level metrics.
Data Collection :
Collect and interpret technical data for new services or upgrades.
Verify locations of existing and proposed equipment and third-party infrastructure.
Project Processing :
Handle projects of moderate complexity with guidance from supervisors.
Obtain technical project information and ensure proper design and cost estimating.
Support small projects and digital initiatives.
Storm Support :
Assist in storm response efforts, including emergency call taking and logistics support.
Manage reporting data for work request exceptions.
Compliance and Process Improvement :
Ensure compliance with regulations and support process improvements.
Cross-train and perform duties of a higher level as needed.
Qualifications : Required :
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in an Electric Utility Customer Service or Engineering Construction environment.
Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
Preferred :
Associate's degree.
Experience in the electric utility industry.
Ability to read and analyze technical drawings and documents.
Knowledge of TEC Customer Service policies and procedures.
