Position Overview:
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) is seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, excellent communication skills, and experience with Microsoft Project and other MS applications. This role involves working closely with the Deputy CIO, IT Project Manager, and members of the Permitting Transformation Program (PTP) team to manage administrative tasks and support key financial, project management, and related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update State Project Management System (Touchdown) Weekly: Track PTP team member hours worked per week, percentage complete of key work streams, and related financial and project status information using MS Project, SharePoint, and related MS tools.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Organize working sessions, touchpoints, and related project meetings.
- Meeting Support: Take minutes for project meetings and support the facilitation of project documentation and templates.
- Presentation Support: Produce and edit PowerPoint presentation slides and reports.
Required Skills and Experience:
- IT Project Management: Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills
- Microsoft Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Office 365 applications, including SharePoint, and MS Teams with at least 3 years of experience.
Highly Desired Skills:
- PMP Certification: Preferred but not required, with at least 2 years of experience.
- Visio: Experience with Visio is highly desired, with at least 1 year of experience.
- Financial Accounts: Familiarity with financial accounts is highly desired, with at least 1 year of experience.
