Mechanical Technician V

Onsite Position : Boxborough, MA

Travel Requirement : Less than 10%

Contract Rate : $40-$45 / hr (experience-based)

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician V to support the development of world-class medical products for image-guided surgery, including the O-arm system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical product development, prototyping, and testing, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Prototyping and Testing : Build, test, and validate prototype systems for large capital equipment. Perform failure analysis, write and execute verification and validation (V&V) tests, and operate machines for rapid prototyping.
• Design Support : Create assembly work instructions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and qualification reports. Perform mechanical inspections, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with design control, quality, and regulatory processes.
• Collaboration and Optimization : Work with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for cost, reliability, and manufacturability. Support design goals related to cost, size, weight, durability, and serviceability.
• Continuous Improvement : Conduct Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), assist in Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), and monitor development progress to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
