Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Location: St. Louis, MO, South Charlotte, NC, or Denver, CO hybrid, 4 days/week in office.
18-month contract with strong opportunity for extension or full-time conversion
Hybrid: 4 days in office/week
Brooksource is searching for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our Fortune 500 Telecommunications client in a key role supporting database operations across their enterprise. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with strong Oracle expertise who can work independently with minimal supervision. The qualified candidate should be reliable, independent, and technically strong in Oracle database technologies with a proven track record of successful database administration in enterprise environments.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
Perform Oracle database builds for new Oracle 23 AI implementations
Execute database upgrades from Oracle 19c to Oracle 23 AI
Implement quarterly Oracle database patching
Support migration initiatives from on-premise environments to AWS Cloud and Oracle Private Cloud
Manage complete database lifecycle including new builds, maintenance, and decommissioning
Work directly with application teams to determine database requirements and specifications
Build and configure databases to application specifications in UAT environments before production implementation
Coordinate with offshore team members for night and weekend database activities
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Extensive experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
Strong proficiency with Oracle 19c and Oracle 23 AI
Experience with database upgrades, patching, and migrations
Knowledge of database lifecycle management
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills to work effectively with application teams
Experience documenting and executing database changes
DESIRED SKILLS:
AWS cloud experience
AWS Aurora experience
PostgreSQL experience
Experience with database automation tools
Experience with database security and compliance requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Collaborative team of 40 database professionals (mixture of onshore and offshore)
Support for 1000 applications across the enterprise
Independent work style with minimal micromanagement
Standard Monday to Friday work schedule (no nights or weekends expected)
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience with Oracle database administration
Legal authorization to work in the United States for at least 18 months
Ability to start in April 2025
