Brookview Healthcare, A leader in Long Term Care is currently seeking qualified applicants for a Floor Technician. We are seeking strong, confident, and dynamic applicants to join our team.
SUMMARY
Provides floor maintenance and related services to ensure a safe, sanitary and comfortable environment for residents, staff, visitors, and the public.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Provides floor care (includes dust mopping, wet mopping, sanitizing, stripping and waxing) in assigned areas and throughout facility.
· Respects residents' privacy and preferences while performing duties. Knocks before entering resident rooms and bathrooms.
· Has knowledge and understanding of proper operation of all floor equipment including buffers and vacuums.
· Practices safe handling and operation of all floor equipment, ensuring a risk-free environment for patients, staff, and visitors; takes appropriate actions to secure equipment out of reach of residents at all times.
· Daily maintenance and cleaning of all floor maintenance equipment.
· Disposes of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
· Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.
· Prior floor technician experience in an institutional setting preferred.
