Overview
The Barbara C. Wilson Preschool serves 15 classrooms of children with a variety of developmental needs including those with autism spectrum disorder, pervasive developmental disorder, speech and language disorder and other developmental issues.
Responsibilities
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: Assist the assigned teacher as requested in all areas of the daily classroom routine Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks. Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher. May be required to attend evening meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and college credits in early childhood are required NYS Teacher Assistant Certification-(ATAS) within six months of hire date State Central Registry Clearance; Workshop- School Violence Intervention and Prevention Good communication skills and a demonstrated willingness and aptitude for supporting people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
