What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Music Counselor position at Brookville Center for Children’s Services?
Overview:
To plan and implement musical activities to develop students motor skills, social skills, sensory perception, auditory awareness, expressive and receptive language and to increase discrimination skills, body and spatial awareness.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and implement musical activities (including seasonal), based on age and functional capabilities to increase student auditory awareness, stimulate expressive and receptive language and improve body and spatial awareness
2. Ensures that students musical activities are carried out and that the students are enjoying them and that they are assisting in improving body and spatial awareness
3. Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience working with children with developmental disabilities and aptitude for music preferred (singing and/or instruments).
VI. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical aspects may include but are not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/student.
