School Social Worker - LCSW

Salary: $75/hr
Brookville Center for Children's Services provides comprehensive services for children 3-5 years of age with intellectual and other disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and autism. Our mission is to educate and support children of all abilities.
We are currently seeing a Per Diem School Social Worker to assist students and families in making the best use of available opportunities and resources and fully develop each student’s individual potential. The School Social Worker will assist in the psychosocial development of children as they interact with the educational process.
In this role, you will:
- Serve as a liaison between the school/family/community.
- Assist parents in utilizing school and community resources to help children maximize their educational abilities.
- Assist and support parents to understand their child’s developmental and educational needs.
- Provide parent/individual/group counseling to assist students/families to cope in times of crisis
- Participate in activities and seek support to enhance knowledge in areas pertinent to students in the school.
- Maintain accurate, appropriate and timely case records and documentation.
- Adhere to program-specific policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of current community resources and determine how these resources may be beneficial to the student, his/her family, and the family’s involvement in the academic process.
- Maintain appropriate professional standards in interactions with families.
- Take responsibility for the health and safety of children during therapy sessions, and provide outstanding Service Quality.
We require:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work
- New York State Social Work Licensure
- Experience working in a school setting preferred
- Time management skills
