Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead our electrical team in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a solid background in electrical work, and the capability to manage projects effectively. This role requires a hands-on approach to supervising daily operations to ensure that all electrical work done on-site is completed on time and to code.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing work schedules for the electrical staff.
- Providing motivation and assistance when necessary.
- Inspecting and assessing the work done by the electrical staff.
- Reading and interpreting design schematics to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions.
- Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment.
- Overseeing the purchasing and maintenance of electrical equipment on-site.
- Consulting with builders, architects, and other workers on-site.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing, test, adjust, and install electronic equipment such as industrial controls, circuit boards and switches, and PLC controls.
- Parts procurement, planning and daily/weekly scheduling of work for the electrical team.
- Ensuring the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns.
- Actively leading and developing the electrical maintenance team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends (when necessary) and accept calls during non-business hours as needed.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proven track record of demonstrating safety excellence, driving positive change, improving maintenance systems, and effectively leading employees.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with state electrical and safety codes.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- A good eye for detail.
Education and Experience:
Rhode Island Electrical License M or B.
- At least 5 years of electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years' experience managing a team in an industrial environment.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot AC or DC drives.
- Proven expertise in preventative and predictive maintenance systems and methods.
- Ability to read and understand electrical power and control system schematics.
- Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Proven work experience as an electrical supervisor.
- Industrial control system design, programming, and troubleshooting experience
Familiarity with electrical power distribution systems and process instrumentation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
