BC Transit is HiringDispatcher Job Duties:
- Schedules paratransit rides for customers, with an emphasis on serving older adults and persons with disabilities.
- Promptly and professionally assists callers with service requests, reservations, cancellations, complaints, and various related issues.
- Uses scheduling software to make ride reservations, plan routes and create trip manifests.
- Maintains two-way communication with drivers, providing rider updates and driver assistance.
- Analyzes and adjusts schedules in response to customer needs and other conditions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 1 year of dispatch operations experience within the transportation industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read maps and have a working knowledge of Broome County geography.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to make quick and sound decisions in accordance with program guidelines.
- Demonstrate compassionate customer service skills.
