MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES : Responsible for reviewing, monitoring and managing contracts and quotes, reconciling revenues and expenditures, and preparing reports. This work is primarily financial / statistical in nature, but requires an understanding of the operating plans and activities of a purchasing department.Job QualificationsREQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business or public administration, economics or closely related field and one year of experience in large scale purchasing of a variety of commodities including experience in the preparation of specifications and the awarding of contracts; ORB) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with an Associate's Degree in accounting, business or public administration, economics or closely related field and three years of experience in large scale purchasing of a variety of commodities including experience in the preparation of specifications and the awarding of contracts; ORC) Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and five years of experience in large scale purchasing of a variety of commodities including experience in the preparation of specifications and the awarding of contracts; ORD) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of A), B) and C) above.Broome County Civil Service Exam RequiredCivil Service Title : Purchasing AgentJob Number : 24-216
