The Manager, Product oversees the full product life cycle and profitability of the Gearmotor Product Line, driving growth through product development, management, and post-launch enablement. This role ensures that the portfolio evolves to meet market needs while maximizing profitability.
The Manager collaborates with marketing, engineering, sales, service teams, and our Japanese parent company and serves as a subject matter expert to support sales efforts and business expansion. This role engages directly with customers at their locations and tradeshows, gathering insights to drive product improvements. Additionally, the Manager works with internal teams to enhance product value, refine go-to-market strategies, and identify opportunities for differentiation and profit growth.

Additional Details For This Role
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers.

About Where We Work
Brother’s corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always “at your side” for our customers.

- Develop and deliver comprehensive sales enablement tools, including presentations, product collateral, and training materials, tailored to specific vertical markets and targeted applications, to equip the sales team with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively sell the product
- Provide ongoing product training and support to the sales team, ensuring they are well-versed in product features, benefits, and competitive positioning within key vertical markets
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted sales campaigns and promotional activities that drive product awareness and generate leads
- Gather and analyze feedback from the sales team and customers within targeted vertical markets to continuously improve sales strategies and product positioning
- Support the sales team in customer engagements & trade show attendance to continually drive relevant sales enablement activities to support the team
- Conduct and analyze market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape, providing actionable insights to inform product development strategies
- Collaborate closely with Sales teams to gather feedback from the field, understand customer pain points, and ensure alignment between product offerings and market demands
- Work with the factory in Japan to coordinate product development activities, ensuring that manufacturing capabilities and timelines align with product launch goals
- Identify gaps in the current product lineup by evaluating market opportunities and customer feedback and propose new product ideas or enhancements to address these gaps
- Understand and leverage overall organizational strengths to develop innovative product solutions that capitalize on the company's unique capabilities and market position
- Manage product line profitability by overseeing pricing strategies, including special pricing agreements and customer-specific SKUs, to ensure financial targets are met
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product assortments, ensuring that product positioning, messaging, and promotional activities align with market needs and company objectives
- Oversee the entire product life cycle, from initial concept through end-of-life planning, ensuring that each stage is managed effectively to maximize product performance and market impact
- Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize product offerings and address any issues that arise throughout the product life cycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Engineering, to ensure seamless product management processes and successful product launches
- Leverage third-party solutions to fill gaps in our product line, ensuring that our offerings remain comprehensive and competitive
- Build and maintain strong relationships with companies that provide auxiliary products, creating complete solutions that enhance our product portfolio
- Evaluate potential partners to ensure a good fit in terms of product compatibility and fulfillment capabilities, maintaining high standards for quality and reliability

- The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000k per year
- Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
- This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives
