The Senior Manager, Portfolio Management and Project Reporting is responsible for the strategic alignment, structure, governance, and reporting of a collection of projects and programs within Brother’s portfolio.
This position serves an integral part of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) by managing, selecting, and prioritizing projects and programs based on potential benefits, risks, and alignment with business objectives Additionally, the senior manager focuses on innovating, developing and leading portfolio management processes, and monitoring the overall performance of the portfolio to ensure it delivers maximum value to the organization. The Senior Manager, Portfolio Management and Project Reporting provides comprehensive analysis and reporting on project performance, and financial insights to facilitate the prioritization and integration of current and future projects into the pipeline.

About Where We Work
Brother’s corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always “at your side” for our customers.

- Develop processes for portfolio management strategies including but not limited to project selection, prioritization, compliance, risk mitigation and resource allocation
- Ensure the projects and programs in the portfolio align with the organization’s strategic objectives and deliver the maximum value
- Collaborate with project and program managers to ensure alignment of individual projects and programs with portfolio goals
- Continuously evaluate portfolio performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and drive initiatives to improve portfolio efficiency, effectiveness, and value delivery. Make strategic recommendations for portfolio adjustments and realignment as needed
- Coordinate resource allocation across projects to optimize portfolio performance and address resource constraints
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, project sponsors, and business unit leaders
- Manage stakeholder expectations, communicate portfolio objectives and performance, and facilitate collaboration and alignment
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks and guidelines for IT portfolio management strategies, encompassing project selection, prioritization, risk mitigation, and resource allocation processes
- Establish and enforce adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational policies within the portfolio management framework
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure that projects and programs within the portfolio comply with regulatory, security, and governance requirements
- Collaborate closely with compliance officers, legal teams, and regulatory experts to integrate compliance considerations into portfolio management decisions and processes
- Monitor changes in regulatory landscapes and industry standards, and update portfolio management practices accordingly to maintain compliance
- Lead the development and execution of portfolio strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and maximizing value delivery
- Guide senior leadership in strategic decision-making by providing actionable financial insights, portfolio performance reports, and risk assessments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and allocate resources effectively, optimizing return on investment and portfolio outcomes
- Mentor and develop portfolio management processes across the EPMO, driving adherence to best practices and continuous improvement in processes and tools.
- Mentor and develop junior team members to ensure best practices in portfolio governance, financial tracking, and performance measurement
- Develop strategic reporting analytics and financial insights to support ongoing portfolio management
- Track and report on the performance of the portfolio, as well as individual projects and programs within it
- Present portfolio performance to executive leadership, influencing key decisions and ensuring alignment with long-term organizational goals.
- Establish portfolio performance metrics and dashboards to regularly monitor portfolio performance and value delivery
- Prepare comprehensive reports on the status, budget, risks, and performance of projects within the portfolio
- Analyze financial data to evaluate the financial health of portfolios and make strategic recommendations to optimize resource allocation and maximize return on investment
- Manage portfolio budgets by developing, monitoring, and controlling financial plans. Track expenses and financial performance metrics to ensure portfolios are delivered within budgetary constraints and financial targets
- Present findings to senior management and key stakeholders
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business Administration, Management, Project Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years comprehensive experience in portfolio management and project management a proven track record of successfully managing portfolios of projects and programs in a dynamic environment
- PMP - Project Management Professional- Preferred
- Jira, Workfront, or other PPM tools and software
- SAP, Salesforce, or Digital Projects
- Strong communication skills (written/verbal) with demonstrated ability to effectively present to all levels within the organization
- Ability to work collaboratively and motivate teams across several business functions to gain buy-in for new processes and drive clarity
- Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies and portfolio management frameworks
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align portfolio objectives with organizational goals, anticipate future needs, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze complex data and trends to facilitate data-driven decision making

- The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 per year
- Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data
- This position is eligible to participate in the relevant Brother variable pay incentive plan(s). Applicable bonus awards are discretionary and contingent upon 1) achievement of your individual objectives and 2) Brother achieving its corporate and business-level objectives
