The Role at a Glance
The Supply Chain Planner will be responsible for both Demand and Supply Planning duties. The planner will focus on forecasting and analytics to build a demand plan to pass to Supply Planning, specifically by testing statistical models, running scenario planning, and building a forecast that accounts for POS trends, customer on-hand inventory, in-stocks, seasonality, and promotional activity. This role will also be responsible for identifying the optimal inventory and safety stock levels for fulfillment of customer orders, while also working within our inventory goals. The Supply Chain Planner will use their end-to-end supply and demand knowledge to build and pull reports for our team's key data and publish them to our broader SCM team and cross-functional counterparts in Sales, Product Marketing, and Finance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Supply Planning
- Forecast, purchase, and maintain accurate inventory levels within different warehouse plants within the Brother supply chain to satisfy channel, eCommerce, subsidiary, dealer, and customer demand
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants and other functional stakeholders to match inventory with customer demand
- Problem-solve, transfer, and re-route shipments within the distribution network to achieve inventory balance
- Identify possible future capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the supply chain
- Provide feedback & input into S&OP for forecasting, planning, order management, and manufacturing processes
Demand Planning
- Test statistical models in SAP IBP to find best-fit forecasts and assign to different segments of each division
- Build forecasts based on key criteria from Point of Sales (POS) data and customer in-stocks and on hand inventory
- Review month-over-month forecast changes with key accounts and their impact on the financial budget
Reporting and Analysis
- Improve supply chain efficiency by analyzing data, reporting, and managing KPI's
- Publish fill rate, forecast accuracy and bias, and inventory coverage reporting
- Pull monthly purchase order details to the factory to create a Cash Flow report for treasury and accounting
- Share monthly pacing report that shows our open order progress against the forecast
Key Experience & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related degree
Experience
- 3 years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory management, procurement, and/or demand planning
Licenses & Certifications
- APICS or ISM certification such as CSCP, CPIM, and or CPSM - Preferred
Software/Technical Skills
- Data analysis and forecasting tools (SAP, Tableau, etc.) - Preferred
Other Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
- Strong understanding of the supply and demand relationship
- Ability to develop actionable insights from data, with strong attention to detail
- Strong understanding of S&OP processes and inventory management
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve positive relationships
Compensation & Schedule for This Role
This role will be a hybrid role. Subject to business needs, employees may work remotely up to two days per week. Assigned office days will be determined by managers. #LI-Hybrid

- The salary (or hiring) range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year
- Starting salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data

About Where We Work
Brother’s corporate headquarters for the Americas is in Bridgewater, NJ, across from the Bridgewater Commons Mall. This location houses key corporate functions, including HR, legal, finance, IT, and supply chain, and a significant presence of our business unit leadership and marketing teams. Our manufacturing and distribution facility in Bartlett, TN spans an impressive 1.5 million square feet - equivalent to 26 football fields - and is located on Brother Boulevard. In addition to the distribution center operations team, this facility hosts several other departments, including our customer service group. Brother also has employees based in other locations, such as Westminster, CO, where many of our marketing and product engineering team members from the mobile solutions division operate, as well as our distribution centers in Richmond, VA and Perris, CA. Additionally, our outside sales teams work remotely within their territories, staying geographically close to the accounts they support to ensure they are always “at your side” for our customers.
