What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caterer position at Brothers BBQ?
Brothers BBQ is looking for Caterers! We are searching for someone with both weekday and weekend availability. Having flexible, sometimes even last-minute availability is preferred in this position. Looking for friendly and outgoing individuals who will provide exceptional levels of service to our customers in a friendly and efficient manner. A clean driving record and personal vehicle is required for insurance purposes.
Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to delivering and setting up catering orders per company guidelines, signing up for catering events via the Catering Google Calendar, prepping sauces, dressings, appetizers and desserts, serving delicious BBQ and beverages, interacting with customers, on-site grilling, breaking down and cleaning up events, lifting tables and equipment, loading/unloading and driving our Catering Vans, assisting the catering coordinators with a variety of tasks around the office including order prep, running errands and cleaning. Catering jobs include a wide variety events including but not limited to office parties, weddings, rehearsal dinners, graduations, construction sites, corporate lunches, festivals, memorial services, and private events.
We are looking for someone who is both proactive and responsive with initiative and able to problem solve when challenges arise. Must have flexible and occasional "day of" availability as most catered events take place at various times during the week and over the weekends. Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays as well as holiday weekends when needed. Must have access to a personal vehicle, a clean driving record and be able to start no later than May 5th.
Compensation is based primarily on gratuities and our caterers earn an average of $35 to $48 per hour. The base wage is $18.81/hr and gratuities range between $15 - $30/hour. Over the summer months, the amount of hours a caterer can expect to work each week is typically between 10 and 30. The more flexibility you have and willingness to pick up a variety of events, including last minute events, will determine how many hours are available per week. Some of our caterers work 30 hours per week consistently. Both weekday and weekend availability is required.
