Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Administration:
- Oversee and manage the payroll process for employees in California and Wisconsin, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Process new hires, terminations, and payroll changes, ensuring proper documentation and data accuracy.
- Manage employee deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, and ensure correct pay for overtime, bonuses, commissions, etc.
- Utilize Paycom to maintain accurate records and process payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis.
- Coordinate and resolve payroll-related inquiries or issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws, tax filings, and labor regulations.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other ancillary benefits, through Anthem and other providers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and issues.
- Provide benefits orientations to new hires and conduct periodic benefits education sessions for employees.
- Ensure accurate enrollment and termination of benefits, including life events such as marriage, divorce, birth, etc.
- Monitor and manage benefit plan changes, renewals, and compliance with relevant regulations (ERISA, ACA, etc.).
- Work closely with HR and leadership to communicate benefits offerings and changes effectively.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding payroll and benefits.
- Prepare and submit various government filings, such as 941s, W-2s, state unemployment reports, and benefits-related reports.
- Assist in audits and ensure all payroll and benefits documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Employee Relations and Communication:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees on payroll and benefits-related questions and concerns.
- Develop and communicate clear processes for employees to access payroll and benefits information.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment by responding to employee inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong working knowledge of Paycom payroll software, as well as Anthem or similar benefits administration platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, benefits programs, and labor laws, including California and Wisconsin-specific requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with employees and leadership.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information
- Fluent in English and Spanish
