PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor for Ice Cream Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the ice cream production process. This includes ensuring the efficient, safe, and quality-driven production of ice cream while supervising a team of production workers. The supervisor will ensure adherence to safety, quality, and food manufacturing standards and support continuous improvement initiatives within the production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of production workers in the ice cream manufacturing process.
• Ensure team members are trained and follow best practices and safety protocols.
• Provide clear direction and monitor performance, providing feedback as needed.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on achieving production goals.

Production Oversight:

• Coordinate daily production activities to meet established targets.
• Monitor production schedules and make adjustments to ensure timely and efficient production.
• Ensure all equipment is operating properly and report any malfunctions to maintenance.
• Oversee the proper handling of ingredients and materials during production.

Quality Control:

• Ensure the final product meets all quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct regular quality checks during the production process to ensure consistency in product quality.
• Ensure all product batches are properly labeled and recorded in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Work with quality control teams to address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Ensure all safety procedures and standards are adhered to by the production team.
• Enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure workplace cleanliness and hygiene.
• Perform safety audits and ensure that safety training is provided regularly to team members.

Inventory & Supply Management:

• Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products, ensuring there is no disruption to the production process.
• Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available as needed.
• Assist in managing waste and ensuring efficient use of resources.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for improving production efficiency and quality.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and process optimization initiatives.
• Work with the management team to establish and track production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare and submit regular production reports, including performance, output, quality control, and safety compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of production logs, employee attendance, and inventory levels.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production or manufacturing, with at least 2-4 years in a supervisory role, preferably in food production (ice cream experience a plus).
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment used in food production, including batch mixers, filling machines, and freezing systems.
• Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FDA regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a cold, refrigerated environment.
• Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
