Assistant Director of Nursing
Full Time Salaried
$99,000-$108,000/Year
Our Assistant Director of Nursing is directly responsible for supervising nursing staff in the performance of their assigned duties, including upholding the standards of nursing practice within the framework of the organization of the Nursing Department. The ADON works side by side with the DON, participating in various meetings, QAPI projects, employment retention strategies, inservicing and DOH regulations.

We are always looking for positive, dependable, caring individuals to join our Nursing team to meet the growing demand in our community for quality care. Assistant Director of Nursing duties include:
- Develops and promotes philosophy, objectives and standards of the nursing department.
- Develops an organizational structure for nursing services.
- Develops and periodically updates job descriptions, orientation check lists, performance appraisals, and competency assessments for each level of staff within the nursing department.
- Hires professional nursing personnel.
- Assures competency is documented of nursing service personnel.
- Identifies nursing service needs and develops plans according to needs.
- Advocates staffing levels for the nursing department that promote high quality nursing services.
- Ensures that the total nursing needs of the residents/patients are met by assigning a sufficient number of qualified supervisory and supportive nursing personnel on a 24 hour basis.
- In absence of the DON, communicates with and represents nursing to the facility’s administrator.
- Participates in after hour emergency Nursing Administration on call rotation and reports significant issues to the DON promptly.

Qualifications
- RN license
- 5 years experience in long term care setting required
- 3 years experience as an ADON or similar role preferred
- Rehab Experience preferred
