Position Title: Director of Fund Development

Exempt Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000
Position Summary:
The Director of Fund Development sets the overall fundraising strategy for Brothers Redevelopment. This role is responsible for creating revenue and growing new funding streams; capitalizing on fundraising opportunities; managing donor relationships and donor information; and ensuring revenue growth aligns with the strategic direction of the organization. They will lead the development team to meet the revenue generating goals set in Brothers Redevelopment’s strategic plan and fundraising plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Grant Writing and Fund Development
- Writing grant narratives and developing compelling funding proposals.
- Sourcing new funding from foundations, corporations, banks, religious groups, and individual givers.
- Researching new funding opportunities.
- Creating new ways for donors to give.
- Managing individual giving campaigns.
- Overseeing the planning and implementation of fundraising events.
- Assists with writing and sourcing funding from public entities as needed in partnership with the Director of Program Operations.
- Compiling and submitting funding reports.
Relationship Building and Stewardship
- Maintaining relationships with existing funders and donors.
- Establish relationships with new funders and donors.
- Managing process of acknowledging donors.
- Staying at the forefront of philanthropic trends.
- Creating and giving presentations to educate others about Brothers Redevelopment's work.
- Engaging and guiding the board of directors and other key stakeholders in assisting with donor relations.
Budget/Strategic Planning
- Managing and developing an annual contributions budget.
- Working closely with executive leadership to determine funding needs and how it relates to the strategic direction of the organization.
- Working closely with program managers to determine funding needs.
- Developing fundraising plans to set long-term goals for fundraising success and growth of development.
Leadership
- Supervise and mentor development staff.
- Provide leadership and support for staff as it relates to fund development.
- Make presentations to the board of directors frequently on performance of revenue generating activities.
Database Management
- Organizing and maintaining donor database.
- Manage grant calendar with reporting and submission deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in development or fundraising role.
- Expert level experience with CRM software.
- Expert in MS Offic Suite.
Skills and Competencies
- Track record of reaching fundraising goals.
- Excellent writer, with grant writing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing comprehensive fundraising, campaigns, including annual giving, capital campaigns, events, and major gifts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including staff, board, volunteers, donors, and other community members.
The role is from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. Occasional evenings and weekends required.
LOCATION:
This position has the flexibility to be performed onsite, remotely or a combination of both. The ability to travel throughout the eight county Denver metro area and elsewhere in the state is necessary – and sometime frequent -- throughout the year.
