Overview We are looking for only persons that have experience in ophthalmology, optometry, or. Optical. We are not training anyone at this time.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality eye care to our patients. You will assist ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic while delivering exceptional patient service. Your knowledge of ophthalmology and medical terminology will be vital in supporting both clinical and front desk operations. You must be competent, responsible, and conscientious.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye exams and take patient histories, including vital signs.
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, including visual acuity tests and tonometry.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using electronic health records (EHR).
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
- Ensure the clinic is well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the ophthalmology team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of physiology related to eye care and ophthalmology.
- Familiarity with medical terminology specific to ophthalmic procedures.
- Experience working in a clinical or retail environment, or optical settings.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Experience with the following machines, OCT, IOL Master, Visual Fields, lensometer, phoroptor,
- Knowledge of CPT codes and diagnostic.
- Ability to quickly learn an EHR program.
