Summary


The Pediatric Nursing Home Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of the pediatric long-term care facility, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality care for medically fragile children and young residents. This role requires strong leadership and management skills, with a focus on pediatric care. The Administrator will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and lead a team that provides compassionate and effective care 24/7. Regular supervision of night shifts and collaboration with the Director of Nursing (DON) and other department heads are essential responsibilities. The Administrator also serves as the Corporate Compliance Officer.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Pediatric Care Leadership: Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures focused on pediatric long-term care to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
  • Staff Management: Supervise and support nursing, respiratory, and other staff, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to pediatric residents.
  • Night Shift Supervision: Regularly visit the facility during night shifts to ensure proper care protocols are followed, and provide oversight to the night shift staff.
  • Compliance and Survey Coordination: Coordinate facility surveys and inspections by regulatory bodies such as AHCA and CARF. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Public Relations and Community Engagement: Maintain positive relations with the community and represent the facility at external meetings as requested by the CEO.
  • Budget Management: Participate in the development of departmental operating budgets and oversee budget approval processes in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Corporate Compliance: Serve as the facility’s Corporate Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Disaster and Safety Planning: Develop and maintain a disaster plan tailored to the unique needs of the pediatric residents, ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Oversee the evaluation and improvement of staff performance through regular reviews and participation in quality assurance committees. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to implement corrective actions as necessary.


Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience in pediatric care or long-term care settings.
  • Florida Nursing Home Administrator License required.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Florida Nursing Home Administrator License
  • CPR, HIV Course
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Confidentiality Agreement required


Supervisory Skills
  • Supervises all nursing home staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and managing staff performance. Works closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure efficient operations and high-quality care in all departments, with a particular focus on pediatric care.


Work Environment

The work environment is representative of a pediatric long-term care facility. The Administrator must be able to supervise staff on various shifts, including nights. The noise level is moderate, and exposure to airborne particles or other healthcare-related environmental factors is possible.


Physical Demands

The Administrator must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move up to 35 pounds. This role requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
