Under limited supervision, this position provides and fosters a collaborative relationship between Broward County Healthcare Systems and Broward College in order to address the current nursing shortage by proactively implementing strategies which identify educational needs for employee training in specialty fields such as Emergency Department, Critical Care, and Perioperative nursing.For additional information, please contact:

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (BSN) required. Master's Degree preferred (MSN).
Minimum Experience/Training:
- Eight years of related field experience with a background in the specified nursing specialty and three years of supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
Minimum Certification/Licenses:
- Active Florida RN License; AHA BLS Healthcare Provider required & AHA ACLS Provider preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Other - 20%: Leads the development and revision of curriculum for specialty courses (i.e. ED, Critical Care, and Perioperative) that promotes integration and transition for nurses into these specialty units.
- Other - 10%: Facilitates instruction and teaches in the specialty courses as well as other courses as assigned, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Basic Arrhythmia, 12 Lead etc.
- Other - 20%: Coordinates and manages adjunct, donated faculty and Simulation Technician personnel for all lecture, clinical and simulation experiences.
- Monthly - 5%: Works in cooperation with Dean to develop and manage department budget in the area of ordering teaching supplies and equipment in preparation for classes and simulated clinical experiences. Analyzes, tracks and reports on enrollment to ensure breakeven guidelines supports profitability of the course. Responsible for equipment, inventory & scheduling.
- Other - 5%: Researches and records student attendance and progress throughout the courses. Reports class outcomes and student evaluations to hospital partners.
- Quarterly - 5%: Coordinates and conducts ongoing needs assessments and hospital site visits for evaluation of specialty programs
- Other - 5%: Coordinates, maintains, and submits in a timely manner accurate records, inventory, payroll, adjunct faculty schedules, textbook orders, program manuals, grades, course syllabi, course evaluation summaries and requests for information or other reports.
- Other - 5%: Acts as department liaison and representative and participates in various campus and off-campus activities, meetings and committees as appropriate.
- Other - 5%: Works in coordination with the department Dean in the development, evaluation and revision of curricula and course outlines and new program development.
- Annually - 5%: Works collaboratively with the department Dean in the development of department goals and objectives in accordance with established college policies and procedures to support college-side strategic goals.
- Other - 5%: Participates in the development, implementation and interpretation of departmental policies and procedures when appropriate.
- Other - 5%: Executes the operational plan of the area and provides direction to ensure alignment with division’s and College’s mission and vision.
- Other - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

- May require negotiation skills and ability to reach mutual points of agreement and benefit among peers and colleagues
- Advanced level technical skills for functional area required
