The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Intern.
Broward County Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) Division is responsible for deploying, utilizing and leveraging information technology to enable business continuity in Broward County. ETS continuously seeks to improve technology services to County residents, businesses, visitors, and employees. We are looking for passionate, creative, and solution-driven people.

ETS is currently seeking qualified candidates for 2 Intern positions in our Workplace Services Field Support section to work with our dedicated team providing technology services for Broward County staff and will have hands on experience, gaining valuable knowledge by working with professionals in the industry.

The Workplace Services Field Support Intern commits to a maximum of 19 hours per week but may work up to 29 hours per week between the hours of 8:30AM and 5:00PM, Monday through Friday, with accommodations for their academic schedule. This intern is based out of Government Center West in Plantation but may be required to work at additional County locations. The intern's workplace performance will be monitored on an ongoing basis.

General Description
Performs support duties in an agency in order to gain knowledge, skills and professional experience.
Works under close to general supervision according to set procedures. Work is reviewed through observation of performance, frequent conferences and reports.

IT SERVICE DESK INTERN - ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist in deploying and troubleshooting client computers to ensure optimal performance.
* Support the installation, maintenance, and field services for desktop systems used by County staff.
* Provide technical assistance for desktop-related issues across various County departments.
* Help install and configure Mobile Device Management (MDM) clients on mobile devices.
* Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
* Gain hands-on experience with networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
* Learn to administer and support Microsoft Office and collaboration applications to improve productivity.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
* Currently enrolled in a degree seeking program at an accredited 4-year college or university with major course work in Computer
Science or closely related field.
* Experience or familiarity with troubleshooting network printers and supporting mobile devices and tablets.
* Basic knowledge of Windows applications and troubleshooting.

Special Certifications and Licenses
None.

Preferences
* One year experience supporting VDI endpoints.
* One year experience supporting mobile devices.
* One year experience supporting computers in an Active Directory Domain.
* Experience in replacing and reimaging PCs.
* Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Office.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective customer support.

Prepares project reports and related data.
Provides administrative support to agency.
Performs related work as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Demands

Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
