The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Quality Assurance Coordinator (Program Project Coordinator) within the Natural Resources Division of the Resilient Environment Department.
Candidates are required to have U.S. Citizenship due to the grant requirements for this position and the ability to perform the essential functions of this position, including approval to access the U.S. Department of Homeland Security systems.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is a professional position within Broward County’s Air Program working closely with the Quality Assurance Environmental Project Coordinators (EPCs) to ensure the agency meets or exceeds all quality objectives for Broward County's Ambient Air Monitoring Program.
This position works with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to coordinate and assign QA/QC functions to the ambient air monitoring staff and finalizing data submission to state and federal partners by monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
Responsibilities include review of all operational QC checks, frequency of checks, quality assurance, field sample collection, data review, data reporting, field staff review, work on the annual QA refresher training with the EPCs, development and revisions of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), performance of Photochemical Assessment Monitoring Station (PAMS) audits, as needed.
This individual will work with program EPCs to review corrective actions, calibrations, maintenance and repair records to ensure that all quality objectives and requirements are met in accordance with program SOPs, QAPPs, and U.S. EPA guidance. This individual will actively participate in all phases of local, state and federal audits.
In addition, the individual in this position will also serve on the Statewide Primary Quality Assurance Organization committees with other local county and state employees, participating in teleconferences, webinar and statewide training. Currently, the work consists of 70% office work and 30% field work.

Manages and coordinates, with considerable independence, all activities of a particular program/project within a section or agency.
Works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in environmental planning, environmental science or closely related field.
(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)
Requires two (2) years of experience in a in environmental/natural resource programs or closely related experience.

- One year experience of Quality Assurance related to ambient air monitoring
- One year of work experience in the operation and maintenance of ambient air monitoring equipment.

- One year experience in State and/or Federal Air databases

- Perform quality assurance, quality control duties for various programs in Broward County.
- Provide first-line management and editing functions of daily reports.
- Perform daily, monthly and quarterly data review in accordance with local, state and federal requirements.
- Report, edit and finalize various data and submit to state and federal partners.
- Organize, edit and maintain local, state and federal standard operating procedures and quality assurance plans.
- Serve as a county liaison between state and federal partners.
- Prepares technical specifications for the procurement of materials and equipment used in diversified environmental projects; participates in designing environmental sampling programs to meet specific objectives.
- Serve as co-lead on state and federal audits.
- Perform QA training and internal performance evaluations in accordance with local, state and federal requirements.
- Communicates key procedural changes to staff and management.
- Plans, directs and supervises the activities of staff. (Depending on area of assignment)
