Summary:
Provides specialized clinical activities relating to designated clinical programs in order to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Performs various types of medication utilization activities within a defined area, including but not limited to anticoagulation, pharmacokinetics, dose adjustments, order verification, and IV to PO-conversions. Participates in committees and represents the department of pharmacy throughout the hospital or ambulatory settings within the area of focus.
This position is for a clinical pharmacy specialist in Sterile Compounding. The Sterile Compounding Pharmacist will play a key role in managing compliance with regulatory bodies, including the Florida Board of Pharmacy and Department of Health, to maintain the safety and quality of compounded medications. This role demands expertise in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices for the preparation of sterile USP-797, non-sterile USP-795, and hazardous compounded medications USP-800. This role requires a thorough understanding of pharmaceutical compounding techniques, including sterile, non-sterile, and hazardous drugs. The selected candidate will play a critical role in continuously improving compounding practices for optimal patient outcomes and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess any of the following:
- Board certification in pharmacy practice or compounding.
- Prior experience in a compounding pharmacist role or in a leadership position overseeing compounding operations.
