Summary:
Reviews medical record documentation to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT-4 codes for outpatient encounters to ensure proper coding, billing, and compliance. Codes according to regulatory guidelines as well as organizational policies.
* Remote in Florida only
Education:
Essential:
* Graduate of accredited Medical Record Technology or Administration Program or college level Anatomy and Physiology and completion of advanced coding classes in ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 at an accredited college or vocational school.
Experience:
* Hospital coding experience required
* One year of inpatient or outpatient surgery coding experience within the prior three years in an acute care facility or ambulatory surgery center preferred.
Credentials:
* Prefer: Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Coding Associate, Registered Health Information Administrator or Registered Health Information Technician.
