The RN Residency Support Specialist is a registered professional nurse who demonstrates
competency through the use of nursing knowledge and skills in the care of patients and families undergoing operative and invasive procedures. The coordinator also provides strategic direction, supervision and daily oversight of the perioperative and invasive procedural orientation and training program. All components of the program are in accordance with AORN and evidence based practices in the perioperative and procedural areas which include, but are not limited to: The Operating Room and Sterile Processing Services as well as all other system wide procedural areas such as but not limited to: Labor & Delivery, Interventional Radiology and Interventional Cardiology Areas. Serves as the program coordinator and instructor for the Perioperative Nurse Residency Program
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with BSN Five years of recent acute care patient care experience required and one year of
training/education experience preferred. RN License to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Florida BLS (AHA provider) and ACLS (AHA provider)
