Brown Advisory’s Information Technology group is seeking a proactive and professional individual to serve as a Workday Financial Architect, who will focus upon servicing the firm’s Accounting & Finance business group. The Workday Financial Architect is responsible for aligning technology and business team’s strategies, systems analysis, requirements definition, systems integration, testing, and support Workday in alignment with key business objectives. Delivering functional Workday Financial Management solutions (Customizations, Workflows, Process Improvement, Business Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement). Provide day-to-day Workday financials support requests and incidents. Cross-functional engagement within the Finance, HR and Payroll functions as well as Integration and Data Services teams. This is a hybrid role, may be worked primarily remotely with an expectation to make regular visits to the Baltimore office.

The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in defining, developing and aligning the technology department’s strategic roadmap with the Accounting and Finance business group’s development strategy.
- Assist in the definition, development, integration and documentation of system business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and the Accounting & Finance department.
- Maintaining knowledge of the firm’s business activities and strategies in order develop solutions that efficiently address client needs
- Interface with users and domain experts, ensure that reporting development goals are captured in deliverables and that milestones are met, assist with resolution of production issues on an as needed basis.
- Delivering functional Workday Financial Management solutions (Customizations, Workflows, Process Improvement, Business Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement).
- Cross-functional engagement within the Finance, HR and Payroll functions as well as Integration and Data Services teams
- Support IT SOX Audit requests, as they relate to Workday Financials ERP System
- Workday Financials Administration and Maintenance
- Create and maintain related technical documentation and business process mapping.
- Work with the Help Desk, Operations Management and the Production Support Team as needed
- Troubleshoot functional issues in a complex financial environment, with various applications and architecture
- Cross-train with other team members in order to facilitate coverage on projects and to ensure that expertise is shared.
- Other duties as assigned
- At least five years of Workday Financials experience, in particular working in or supporting the Accounting & Finance team
- At least ten years of systems experience, in particular working in or supporting the Accounting & Finance team
- Portfolio accounting experience
- Strong experience with FDM, Business Assets, and Banking Modules
- Strong experience with continuous improvement initiatives, architecting complex solutions, and leading production support function in tandem
- Partner certification in Workday Core FINS (Active, or Expired)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access, especially pivot tables, reports, and charts
- Strong analytical skills, follow-up capability, and problem-solving ability
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work in an office location
