Job Summary
Brown Behavioral Health Services is seeking to contract a dedicated and compassionate part-time Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting outpatient rounds or visits in various independent living facilities to provide ongoing mental health services and support. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our clients by developing and implementing effective treatment plans and providing high-quality care. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work within a supportive environment committed to improving the mental health of our community. This role could transition into a full time contract position, and it is currently offered as a 1099 contract role. Duties included but not limited to:
- Conducting in person and telehealth outpatient mental health visits in various independent living facilities to assess patient conditions and progress.
- Engaging in psych evals, follow-up assessments, psychotherapy, care management, etc.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
- Documenting patient interactions and updating records accurately.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations during all visits.
-Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
-Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
-Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
-Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding mental health issues.
-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients.
-Utilize telehealth services to reach patients in need of remote support.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
-Stay informed about current best practices in psychiatric care, including ICD-10 coding and infection control measures.
-Must have reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Master’s of Science degree in Nursing from an accredited APRN program required.
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred but not required.
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arkansas.
- Current and valid DEA license in Arkansas.
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) required.
- Minimum individual malpractice insurance of 1M/3M required.
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a PMHNP.
- Experience in a healthcare facility or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficient in developing and implementing treatment plans.
Communication Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Strong empathy and active listening skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to adapt to changing schedules and patient needs.
- Availability for various shifts, including weekdays and weekends.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technology.
- Current certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS)
