Join us as a Trade Finance Senior Specialist
The Trade Finance Senior Specialist within the PB Credit Administration team is responsible for processing Commercial and Standby Letters of Credit, as well as Documentary Collections, with a particular focus on reporting, and review of transactions for potential red flags and suspicious activity. The role also requires good communication skills with both internal and external clients.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Transaction Processing & Conflict Resolution
- Resolve problems and execute more complex transactions such as Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees under approved Credit facilities as well as Documentary Collections
- Review and approve transactions processed in accordance with ICC Rules and with BBHs Credit and Compliance Policies
- Interact with other BBH departments on resolution of issues and follow up on open inquiries
- Intraday and end of day reconciliation of daily work.
Client Relations
- Provide superior client service by answering client inquiries and assisting clients with technical issues.
- Ensure timely response to internal/external requests and ensure all deadlines and requirements are being met
- Build and maintain relationships at all levels both within and outside the organization.
Other
- Assist team with high level projects
- Actively participate in process improvement to increase team productivity and efficiency
- Assist in the development and production of monthly management reporting
Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of Trade Finance experience.
- Knowledge of one or more product areas within Operations and its process.
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of ICC Rules such as: International Standard Banking Practice for the Examination of Documents under Documentary Credits (“ISBP”), Uniform Customs and Practices for Documentary Credits (“UCP”), International Standby Practices (“ISP”), Uniform Rules for Collections (“URC”) and Incoterms
- Knowledge of the BankTrade system is a plus
- Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (“CDCS”) not required but is a plus
- Research, analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels through effective verbal and written skills.
- Organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proactive self-starter who is detail and goal oriented.
This role is based in our New York City location and is a hybrid role, with three days per week in office
Salary Range
$75k - $85k base salary annual bonus target
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing.
