Brown & Brown is Seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our growing team in Bend, OR.
The role of the Business Development Executive (BDE) is to increase new business revenue for our agency. The BDE will actively pursue prospective clients and secure highly qualified meetings with the decision maker(s) for our Producers.
How You Will Contribute
- Ability to quickly establish and build organic relationships.
- Relentlessly pursue meetings with prospective clients daily via email, phone calls, mailers, networking events etc.
- The ability to assess the needs of a business and do so with a curious mindset.
- Successfully and compellingly articulate that a prospective client would benefit from a “people/partner solution” – not a “product/pricing” solution.
- Capable of explaining complex concepts clearly.
- Intuitively know the appropriate time to ask for a meeting how to do so with tact.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills when ‘objections’ arise from the prospective client.
- Comfortable engaging in dialogue with C-Suite professionals.
- Nimble when priorities need to shift quickly and with urgency.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Active Commercial Insurance License.
- Active Life and Health Insurance License.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
- 5 years of successfully selling products and services to large businesses.
- Proficient in using CRM software to manage leads, track activities, and generate reports.
- Tenure and experience that allows you to guide a business through the known and unknown challenges they have.
