Brown & Brown is Seeking an Employee Benefits Analyst to join our growing team in Houston, TX.
The Benefits Analyst will assist in servicing the needs of employee benefits clients. This includes daily service functions and frequent ad hoc requests, preparing requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverages, and escalating issues as needed. This is a great opportunity for a benefits professional looking to grow into a more client-facing position
How You Will Contribute
- Assists Account Executives/Benefits Consultants in preparing requests for proposals, renewals of benefit coverages, contracts, summary plan descriptions, agreements, etc.
- Works with clients and markets to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Performs routine service functions for the clients.
- Confers with Consultant to identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Assists Consultant with review of contracts, summary plan descriptions, agreements, etc., for accuracy.
- Identify, plan, and develop methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Request and manage benefit renewal delivery and confirmation process.
- Draft benefit marketing, manage process and deliver results to Benefit Consultant.
- Create, review and edit employee benefit guides, presentations and other client communications as requested.
- Support client in open enrollment preparation and execution.
- Provide compliance updates/notices to clients and address questions/requests.
- Manage internal client audit process.
- Participate in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within 90 days of employment.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
- 1-3 years’ experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
- Bachelor’s Degree in related industry preferred and/or equivalent experience
- Basic knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Microsoft Excel – Strong to expert level skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client requirements
- This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
