Brown Coach is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist/Inventory and Parts Coordinator to join our team. The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our company’s operational success by managing procurement and inventory processes. This position is responsible for managing inventory levels, ordering products, keeping accurate records, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure the timely availability of materials. The specialist will work closely with the operations, finance, and maintenance teams to optimize inventory flow, controls costs, and support seamless business operations. This position is primarily in Amsterdam but does require coordination with our Saratoga Springs location.
Key Responsibility:
· Inventory Management:
o Monitor and control inventory levels for all parts of the fleet.
o Maintain detailed inventory, purchase, and pricing records.
o Utilize inventory management systems.
o Conduct regular physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of stock records.
o Work with the maintenance team to ensure a timely turnaround of needed parts.
· Purchasing and vendor management:
o Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers to secure the best deals on parts.
o Develop and maintain a parts vendor network.
o Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and address any quality issues.
o Evaluate new suppliers and products to identify potential costs savings and improve inventory quality.
· Reporting and Analysis:
o Generate regular reports on inventory levels, and key performance indicators.
o Analyze parts data to identify trends and opportunities to optimize inventory management.
o Identify cost-saving measures and implement strategies to improve profitability.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience in inventory management and purchasing, ideally within the automotive or heavy vehicle industry but not required.
· Proficiency with computer systems and inventory management software.
· Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions regarding inventory levels and purchasing strategies.
