Brown County Schools is seeking a skilled and passionate Construction Teacher to lead our high school and middle school construction programs. This position will introduce students to the fundamentals of construction, with a focus on home building, safety procedures, and hands-on project work. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience in home construction and a commitment to preparing students for careers in skilled trades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and teach an engaging construction curriculum for both high school and middle school students.
- Provide hands-on learning experiences in areas such as carpentry, framing, roofing, and other essential home-building skills.
- Emphasize workplace safety, tool handling, and construction site best practices.
- Integrate industry trends and emerging technologies into lessons.
- Collaborate with local businesses, trade organizations, and apprenticeship programs to create career pathways for students.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom and workshop environment.
- Support students in industry certifications and skill competitions.
- Work with school administrators and fellow educators to align course objectives with career and technical education (CTE) goals.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Industry experience in home building, construction management, or a related trade.
