We are seeking an In-Charge Associate to join our team!
In-Charge Associates are responsible to all levels above the In-Charge Associate level. The In-Charge Associate is repeating on engagements and should be striving for increased efficiency and understanding. On larger audit assignments, the In-Charge is executing field work under the direction of an engagement team leader. On tax assignments, the In-Charge is preparing more complex returns and performing research. The In-Charge Associate assists Associates in routine matters not specifically related to a particular client. Minimum supervision is required for In-Charge Associates as they become more efficient and technically competent, and assume more responsibility for client service. CPE will be of a basic, general nature with specialization beginning.
What your day looks like:
- Reviews the adequacy of client’s normal control systems, may document the system for our files, and may perform testing to verify the accuracy of the data provided.
- Imports client data to our workpaper files.
- Prepares workpapers and posts entries to our working trial balance.
- Prepares tax returns as requested.
- Prepares drafts of client’s financial statements if needed.
- Assists Associates in learning basic skills.
- May be responsible for some engagements and report directly to Director or Partner.
What you need for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- 2 years of public accounting experience preferred.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS), and financial statement disclosures.
- Basic knowledge of corporate, partnership, and individual tax laws.
