A Service Technician performs repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles, heavy municipal/contractor equipment to include street sweepers, hydro excavators, remote control slope mowers, multi-purpose tractors, attachments and leaf maintenance equipment.

3 years of mechanical experience preferred

A Service Technician performs repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles, heavy municipal/contractor equipment to include street sweepers, hydro excavators, remote control slope mowers, multi-purpose tractors, attachments and leaf maintenance equipment.

- Perform the most difficult diagnoses and repairs of mechanical defects with heavy equipment fleet and other related products within the BEC portfolio
- Remove and tears down components and assemblies, such as engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and power trains
- Proficient at rebuilding, adjusting, reinstalling and aligning components and assemblies
- Extensive knowledge of machine shop tools and knowledge of safe machine shop practices
- Highly skilled at reading electrical (12v) and hydraulic
- Ability to apply appropriate welding and fabrication techniques when required
- Extensive knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with Service Manager and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
- Provide detailed estimates for repairs and replacements
- Maintain records of all maintenance work completed on vehicles, including parts and supplies used
- Ensure that work orders are completed properly and accurately
- Assist the Service Technician team in diagnosing and tracing more challenging defects or problems
- Interact and communicate estimate and project status with customers as needed
- Assist with mechanical issues in the field as needed
3 years of mechanical experience preferred

- Extensive knowledge analyzing and diagnosing complex mechanical defects
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Must be proficient in analyzing and diagnosing complex mechanical defects
- Team player and dependable

- Strong time management and organization skills
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL Class B a plus
- Must pass drug test, background check and DOT physical
- Safety-toe boots
- Must have a tool box with basic set of hand tools
