Barista

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating a welcoming café environment. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and food, along with the ability to provide exceptional customer service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items while ensuring a clean and safe work area.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist customers effectively.
• Operate the POS system for order processing and cash handling.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the café area.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of food and beverage supplies.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation or food service is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
• Familiarity with POS or similar cash handling systems is a plus.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell menu items to enhance customer experience.
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order processing.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to engage with customers effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
